GOOGLE SPREADSHEETS IF STATEMENT

The Google Sheets IF statement is a powerful tool for data analysis and automation within the Google Sheets platform. It allows users to perform conditional logic, enabling dynamic calculations and data manipulation. This feature is essential for creating complex formulas, automating tasks, and generating insights from data. By utilizing the IF statement, users can make their spreadsheets more interactive and responsive, adapting to different data scenarios.

The IF statement in Google Sheets follows a simple structure: IF(condition, value_if_true, value_if_false). Here, the condition is a logical expression that evaluates to TRUE or FALSE. Depending on the result, the formula returns either value_if_true or value_if_false. This functionality is particularly useful for creating conditional formatting, where cells display different values based on specific criteria.

One of the key benefits of using the IF statement is its ability to automate decision-making processes.
